I think reflection is an important tool for me to see value in my activity or lack there of.
It wasn’t until being away from Silent River for the better part of 5 years or so that I literally saw the importance of my journaling. Reading some of my old blogs gave me a realization as to where I was mentally. It seemed as though my subconscious being was telling me to be aware. If I had only listened to what I was writing, my life would have been much different than what it is today.
Reflecting has lead me to a lot more questions as to my actions and consequences of.
I’ve been looking back at the last 63 days in the I Ho Chuan and what I’ve accomplished. Being as though it had been about 7 years since performing a form , I have relearned 7 forms and videoed my Beta Form for which I’m quite proud of. My flexibility is not anywhere close to what it was 7 years ago, but I have noticed some positivity in that direction in just two months. The nunchucks, another weapon which I have not played with in 7 years and managed to put together an amalgamation of moved that represent a sequence of defensive and offensive moves.
The last 63 days of achievement with “all” additional I Ho Chuan challenges involved approximately 7300 minutes of time, equating to 122 hours or 5 full days of my life.
The math shows what is doable for one in such a short time frame and also what can truly be fit into an average way of life to achieve something above mediocrity.
