Life on Earth is So Short
I still ask myself these questions. I think the further I move in life, not only do I see how quickly it has pasted but how I now want to fit things in that I see more value in. I’m not sure that I want to live longer, but I certainly want to live healthier than I ever have…and I want the same for people around me, especially m boys and their families.
This post is a real mess of thoughts...pure reflection and something to come back to.
Are we living right? Do we stress over small insignificant stuff? Do we think about stuff that we could and should totally avoid? Is it really that important to follow historical trends to assist in managing our here and now? Why can’t we just live right and not worry about the mistakes made hundreds of years ago. Do we not know right from wrong?
How do I/ you perceive one’s existence? We all act like we are going to foresure see tomorrow’s rising sun. At what age do we start to see the value of time? What does it take to see the light - cancer, terminal illness, life threatening accident? Why not just start living like every additional breathe is a breathe to grateful for. Why do we gravitate to negatively? Why is it sometimes just hard to see joy?!
How do I portray my life to my children with hopes of giving some insight to their time on earth, so that they can make the most of their time before the reality that it is truly short and before they start wishing they’d done things differently?
Living in the moment is difficult, but not impossible, like everything, it takes effort and patience…it takes believing in its effectiveness to the health of your mental being.
Societal changes are pulling us from the realities of how humans used to live and co-exist with minimal belonging, yet with all the necessities. Happiness comes from within not from material items - this seemed so much more evident 30 years ago.
Reflecting back 3 decades I don’t remember the desire to escape to nature to find peace and to need to nurture my inner being.
Starting within is how I feel it must begin; enjoy, be truthful, patient, honest, humble, continue to learn, work hard, eat well, be a better listener than talker, learn to love yourself and grant yourself grace. Determine your desires from your needs and don’t over complicate things.
We have options and choices to make. We can reduce complications in life, through simplification and being cognizant of who we are. We can live healthy and treat our mind and body better.
